- How long does the whole process take?
If you need a short turn around time for your illustration, if payment and information is all in place, and replies to questions are quick, there is no reason you shouldn’t receive a final design within six weeks. Do allow an extra month for printing.
Most couples allow more time than this, and the process can be started before all your details, venue for example, have been confirmed. In general, I’d suggest allowed about three months, if you have the time.
- Can you produce an illustration for something not listed on your website?
Yes!
Every illustration is bespoke and different, and I do love a challenge, so working to your own specific brief is no problem.
Also, the printer I work with is used to bespoke requests, so should be able to print to your specifications too. Just contact me using the website contact form.
- How much will the printing cost?
I cannot guarantee a particular price for your printing, as each quote is provided individually based on your design.
You can always decide to print the invitations yourself.
I believe the printing costs I quote are reasonable for a bespoke run by a professional printer using beautiful paper, but you may know someone who can do it for you, or just print the item yourself.
- Are envelopes included in invitation printing?
I can add them to the quote for you.
- Will you put all my answers to the questions in the illustration?
Not necessarily.
There may be some things you do not want in your illustration. For example, if you’ve been married before, had rocky patches in your relationship, or for some people, if you’ve met online, these are things you may wish to avoid mentioning on your wedding invitation. This should not necessarily stop you from including this information in the questionnaire. A simple sentence with a note not to include it in the invitation works best, for example, our first date was at the British Museum. We met online, but we would prefer it if you didn’t include that. (I have nothing against internet dating at all myself! – I’m just working with a real life example)
It helps in the design process to know these details, even if they will not appear on the final design.
In reference to details you do want in the illustration, equally let me know in your answers, for example He proposed to me at the top of a mountain. It was really romantic, so I’d love it if there was a way to include this. However, I cannot guarantee to include each and every single personal thing you have specified in your answers. This is generally due to space and to keep the illustration easy to follow.
